The BlackBerry Default gathering fails with only the BlackBerry Source Expansion task running. The BlackBerry Source Expansion task fails with the following errors:
"Connect to the BlackBerry database fail Domain Name = Cannot open database "BESMgmt" requested by the login. The login failed . Login failed for user <Domain\Username>"
"DomainEnumeration failed with error message: Cannot open database "BESMgmt" requested by the login. The login Failed. Login failed for user <Domain\Username>"
"The following error occurred during the processing of a given gathering: Cannot open database "BESMgmt" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user <Domain\Username>"
The MessageStats service account used to connect to the BES configuration database does not have sufficient rights to the database. These errors can also occur if the BES configuration database was moved to a different SQL server and the BlackBerry Domains configuration is MessageStats was not updated to reflect the new SQL server name.
Confirm the MessageStats service account has the following permissions:
1. A member of the Local Administrators group on all of the BlackBerry servers.
2. For BES 4.x, member of the rim_db_admin_audit_sr_helpdesk role in the BES configuration database. For BES 5.x, member of the db_datareader role in the BES configuration database.
If the BES configuration database was moved to a different SQL server, update MessageStats to point to the new SQL server:
1. Open the MessageStats console
2. Expand BlackBerry | BlackBerry Domains
3. Right click the BlackBerry domain and select Properties
4. Enter the new SQL Server Name
5. Click Apply and OK
