"User mapping failed for ..." -
Description
When trying to perform a migration to also map Users from Notes to SharePoint (MNSP), the following error is being thrown:
"User mapping failed for 'CN=John/OU=SP/O=Quest' to [CN=John/OU=SP/O=Quest](Created By)"

Cause
There is either no mapping file being used by MNSP or the name value (syntax) in the mapping file is inaccurate. You may need to use a domain/username or another type of syntax instead. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Under the User Mapping tap in MNSP Designer | Options, there is a 'test User Mapping' hyperlink/option. Click that and test with the accounts/syntax being used in the mapping file that MNSP can map successfully.
If that fails, then the mapping file needs to be modified with the correct account syntax. You want to make sure to click on 'Validate in SharePoint' and that will show whether the SharePoint account exists and can be read.
