How can I save the Export data grid results of a select statement or query into an Excel 2007 file format (.xlsx) using Save As option?

Resolution
For Toad for Oracle 10.1.1 and lower:
Toad 10.1.1 and lower does not have this option. It may be possible Save the query results as an .xls file in Toad, then open the file via Excel 2007, and then use Save As to change the format to .xlsx. This might not always work.

For Toad for Oracle 10.5.0 and higher:
Toad 10.5 now supports saving to Excel 2007 (.XLSX) file format. You can simply add the "X" in the file extension and continue.
For Example, when you run a query | right-click the data grid results | choose Export Dataset | choose Export Format: Excel | in the Output -> File box | just add the "X" in the end of the file name. So for example, it will initially show as i.e. Test01.XLS >> change it to Test01.XLSX. Continue with the other settings you want to change, and it will now be saved and can be opened in Excel 2007.
