Can you apply team coding to some users and not others?
Much of team coding is based on the Toad installation's settings. An admin user with the proper Team Coding Roles (created with the Server Side Object Install) will need to manually enable or disable team coding on an installation (under TC Status | Settings in the Toad menu). An admin will determine which objects and files will be controlled by team coding (setting up Code Control Groups or CCGs).
There is no control over team coding restrictions on the user level (unless done through the 3rd party application, like restricting read and write, which is not controlled by Toad).
EX: USER1 is controlled by team coding. You would like USER2 to NOT be controlled by team coding, meaning, regard less of the objects, USER2 will not have to check in or out anything.
This is only possible if USER2 only works on his/her own installation of Toad. If USER2 goes into another computer with Toad, and that install has team coding enabled, regardless of what user he/she logs in as he/she will be controlled by team coding because of the install.
Now in general, if a particular object is not noted as controlled by team coding (object does not belong to any Code Control Group), then there is no need to worry about checking in and out, and this will apply to all users (both USER1 and USER2 will be able to work on that uncontrolled object, regardless of their what Toad install they are working on).
This should apply to or are similar to all versions with Team Coding up to at least v9.1.
