"Error 1920.Service NetPro ReportADmin Agent (NPRepADSrv) failed to start. Verify that you have (4316314)

When installing ReportAdmin agent or moving agent to a different server, the installation fails with the error message :

"Error 1920.Service NetPro ReportADmin Agent (NPRepADSrv) failed to start.   Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

This error can appear if the correct permissions have not been granted as described in the installation guide.   Often the missing permission is the Content Manager role in SRS.

Verify account used for installation meets the following criteria:

Access to the NetPro ReportADmin Agent database  

Access rights to Directory Services for harvesting directory data

Administrative rights in SQL Reporting Services (Content Manager)

To verify/assign Content Manager role for Reporting Services:

 Note: BUILTIN\Administrators group should have this role already.   If you cannot add user to this group, then do the following.

1. Launch the internet browser and enter the following into the browser's address field:

http://<server name or IP address>/<report server virtual directory>.

2. Select the Properties tab and select Security.

4. Select New Role Assignment, enter a name for the group or user and select Content Manager.

5. Select OK to add the new role assignment.
