Description
When adding a new SQL Server agent, the installer agent checks the required permissions for given user.
- In situations where the user has the required permissions installer agent continue with installation flow.
- If the given user is missing permissions, the installer agent will display an "Insufficient Privileges" popup giving the option to open a "permissions check/grant" script in a separate window to copy and execute manually.

Resolution
The following permissions are required to monitor SQL Server on GCP
The monitoring user must be
- Added as a user (mapped) to system databases: master, msdb, tempdb, and member of [CustomerDBRootRole] server role.

Grant Permissions Script
The most current copy of the GCP Permissions Check script is available for download from the DB_SQL_Server_Grant_Permission_Script package in the Administration | Cartridges | Components for Download area of Foglight beginning with the release of the 6.3.0 and higher releases of the SQL Server cartridge.
A copy of the 6.3.0 version of the grant permissions script has also been attached to this Knowledgebase article. Users must be logged into Supportlink to download this script. -
