When running Recovery Manager for Exchange (RME) on a 64 bit machine that has the 64 bit version of Outlook installed and trying to open the console the following message may be received:
Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\MSMAPI
Version installed on RME machine is not compatible with the version of Outlook installed.
In versions previous to 5.6, 64bit versions of Outlook were not supported. 32bit Outlook would need to be installed on the Recovery Manager for Exchange machine.
RESOLUTION 1
If running Recovery Manager for Exchange 5.5.1 (RME) or earlier:
Uninstall the 64 bit version of Outlook and then install the 32 bit version of Outlook or uninstall your current version and download and install RME 5.6.
RESOLUTION 2
For Recovery Manager for Exchange 5.6 (RME) or Later:
Note: The Autorun should detect the version of Outlook you have and install the appropriate version of RME. If there is any kind of error then choose your version manually by going to the setup directory in the unzipped package.
1. Install the version of RME that corresponds to the Outlook version you have installed on the RME machine.
Inside the Setup directory of the unzipped package you will find 3 different .MSI packages:
Install: RME_x64.msi - If the RME Machine is 64bit, with 64bit Outlook installed.
Install: RME_x86.msi - If the RME Machine is 32bit, with 32bit Outlook installed.
Install: RME32_x64.msi - If the RME Machine is 64bit, but has 32bit version of Outlook installed.
E.g.
If Outlook is 32bit is installed the 64bit RME machine then RME32_x64.msi.
2. Open the console.
Note: If the correct version of Outlook and RME are installed on the server and you are still getting the error manually create the path specified in the error message. "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI"
