When running a query in SQL Navigator, the message "Control 'dpTaskManager' has no parent window" or some variation of this appears in the Output window and there is no grid to display the results. Switching to a different layout does not resolve this. There does not seem to be any problem elsewhere in SQL Navigator.
Corrupted layout settings in registry.
We do not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains information critical to your computer and applications. Make sure you back up the registry before modifying it. For more information on the Windows Registry Editor and how to back up and restore it, refer to Microsoft Article ID 256986 “Description of the Microsoft Windows registry” at Microsoft Support.
1. Ensure SQL Navigator for Oracle is not running
2. Start | Run | Regedit
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Quest Software\SQL Navigator 6.x and expand
4. Rename 'Docking Windows' to 'Docking Windows_old'
5. Exit the Registry
6. Launch SQL Navigator and retest your issue
