Toad Data Point Cross Connection Query failing for SQL Server through firewall. -
Description
Trying to execute a cross query between AS400 (iSeries) db and a SQL Server db (outside company firewall). Connections can be established for both of the databases individually but the cross query errors out because the connection cannot be established. Toad.exe has been added to safe list on company firewall
ERROR:
mysqld.exe – Application Error
The instruction at “0x0213ecf6” referenced memory at “0x0000004”. The memory could not be “read”.
Click on OK to terminate the program

Cause
Firewall blocking "mysqld.exe" (mysql database engine used for aggregating the data). -
Resolution
Add "mysqld.exe" to Firewall safe list.
