Foglight Repository Database increases in size dramatically (4309063)

Foglight Repository Database size is constantly increasing with GBs a week.

The number of Oracle datafiles in the customer environment is high (thousands of datafiles). Repository analysis indicates that DBO_Datafile_IO_Activity amount of data is high and taking most of the FMS Repository database.

Change the Retention Policy for the DBO_Datafile_IO_Activity topology type in the way the rollups periods will be shorter.
Side by side, purging will take place in shorter time.

Below are the steps to take in order to change the Retention Policy for the DBO_Datafile_IO_Activity topology type:

1. Navigate to Administration > Data > Manage Retention Policies
2. in the drop-down list, choose DB_Oracle (see attached screenhost RT_drop_Down.png)
3. Look for DBO_Datafile_IO_Activity topology type
4. Expand the DBO_Datafile_IO_Activity topology type
5. Click on each Age value, and edit as follows:

   Age	Rull-Up Period
   5min	5 min
   1days	5minutes
   3days	1hours
   2weeks	4hours
   1 months	purge

After the change, the values should be as follows (see attached screenshot after.png)

As more Datafiles there are, the more data will be submitted back to the FMS Repository.

On one hand, the collection for the datafile IO activity is running by design, according to its scheduled time and frequency.
On the other hand, the size of the Repository database is dramatically increasing because the amount of data being submitted to the FMS Repository.
