We are using the MartUpgrade to upgrade our r7 or r8 mart to r9 version. Our host DBMS is SQL Server 2008. Should we upgrade to a later version of SQL Server before upgrading our mart?
Solution:
MartUpgrade is limited to SQL Server 2008 version or earlier.
If you are going to use MartUpgrade to upgrade your mart from r7 or r8 to r9 you need to remain on the older SQL Server 2008 version or earlier version because later versions of SQL Server are not supported by MartUpgrade. That is because r7 and r8 versions of MartServer supported only up to SQL Server 2008 and MartUpgrade is using that technology to do the upgrade. If you are going to upgrade your SQL Server to a later version, please do the MartUpgrade first before you upgrade SQL Server.
