Does OS connection from the Agent side uses .profile or .login?
What can prevent the OS connection from taking place?
Foglight for Oracle uses standard SSH connection in order to login to the remote host where the instance resides. For that, an OS user account has to be created prior the Agent attempts to log ito the OS. Creating OS account usually involves .profile and .login, and then Agent OS user is no different than any other OS user. In some cases, the .login or .profile will prevent the agent to establish an OS connection.

When using or creating an OS account for the Agent usage, use the simplest .login and .profile with no extras which are not required.
The Agent id doing NO manipulation on the login files and scripts in the UNIX box, it just follows the regular login procedure of the OS.
