How to do a Single Object Compare against multiple Target databases? Database menu | Compare | Single Objects does not seem to have this capability. Only one Target can be selected; unable to compare with multiple or many Targets.
Use the Schema Compare feature for this type of compare. Here are the steps.
1) Go to Database menu | Compare | Schemas.
2) Select your Source schema and 2 or more Target schemas.
3) Next, go to “Options” Tab | “Object Types to Compare” Tab | only check-mark the ‘type’ you want to compare i.e. Tables.
4) Next, go to the “Misc Options” Tab | check-mark “Only Compare Object Names like…”.
5) Then in the text field below it, enter the object name i.e. the Table name you want to compare. Also un-check “Case Sensitive” box if you prefer.
6) Click the green Run (play) icon to start the compare.
7) After the compare is done, Toad will bring you to the “Results” Tab, which will show the differences already for one Target Schema.
8) To see the differences for the other Target Schemas, click the “Target Schema” drop-down arrow (in the upper part of the Compare Schemas window) | select another Target Schema | it will then show the differences for that Target Schema. NOTE: the Differences, Sync Script, etc. for all the Target Schemas cannot be combined into one view.
