The following messages keep appearing in the event log from time to time though Shareplex keeps running:
Â
04/01/10 09:06 Notice: Oracle env - HPRD:/u00/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.4 [sp_cnc(pdb)/7897140]
04/01/10 09:15 Warning: SharePlex for Oracle/CPUs licensed violated. Incorrect number of CPUs: the machine has 24 CPU(s), and the license supports up to 12 CPU(s). [sp_cop/1388640]
The licensing terms have been violated.
The server currently has more number of CPUs than the number of CPUs for which the license key was originally issued. When a permanent license key is issued, it is based on the number of CPUs on the server. It is possible that subsequently the CPUs are increased on the machine. Since Shareplex licensing is based on the # of CPUs, the terms of licensing are violated. The message will keep appearing until a new license key commensurate with the current hardware configuration is applied. To get the new permanent license key, contact your Sales Rep for Shareplex or contact Shareplex Support. To deploy the new permanent key, shutdown Shareplex and run the script splex_add_key located in the install subdirectory of the Shareplex Product Directory (also referred to as prodder).
