The list of new data type, objects and DDLs grow with every newer Oracle version. Consequently the Shareplex is also modified to include support for most of these. The Shareplex Admin Guide Chapter 3 titled "Shareplex Replication" section " What SharePlex does not replicate" delves on what is excluded. The question arises as to whether Shareplex supports all operations, datatypes and objects that do not form the part of this exclusion.
General information.
Just because an operation, datatype or object is not included in the list of non-supported items does not imply that it is supported. Users need to refer to the section titled "What SharePlex replicates" in the same chapter that lists all such supported items. The reason for this is as follows. There can be a number of new features added in Oracle in the form of these items. These items are evaluated and handled in Shareplex program code (in other words, supported) depending on factors like feasibility, importance, user need, etc. It may be possible that some of them did not yet get addressed as to be included in the list of supported or non-supported items. This does not mean that the item will not be supported in future versions of Shareplex. It just means that as of now it is not included in supported list and this may not be a permanent decision. Its inclusion in future may depend on the factors mentioned above.
