Can copy or append work on dissimilar source and target database versions and/or operating system (4299748)

One may want to be aware of restrictions of copy when it comes to the use in dissimilar source and target database versions.

General information.

Since copy or append are part of Shareplex, it will work across dissimilar OS platforms (since Shareplex can replicate across them). However, though Shareplex can replicate from a higher to a lower Oracle version (under certain conditions and subject to restrictions), the copy or append are not meant to sync a table from a higher to a lower version of Oracle. The reverse is true, namely, it will work from a lower to a higher version of Oracle. Please refer to Shareplex Reference Guide for details on the copy when running it across  dissimilar source and target database versions.
