The following warning messages are observed in event_log when the splex_uname gives different number of CPU than the one given by the OS command:

In this case the splex_uname returns 96 CPUs whereas the OS command returns 20 CPUs.

Dual core or Quad core CPU may have been used in the server.
Normally Shareplex license is violated when additional processors are added to a server. Shareplex is licensed for a particular server with a specific build and is designed to run on the correct server. However, if dual core or quad core CPU is used, then the physical CPU may be different than the ones shown in the output of vmstat. In such case Shareplex will not stop functioning, but rather, it will keep issuing warning messages in the event log. They can be ignored. To prevent even the warning messages from appearing, a new perpetual key (permanent key) will need to be issued by Quest Licensing after approval from Product Management.
