Description
The following error occurs when attempting to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database. A web page is then opened to direct user to download and install SQL DMO component.
"The installed SQL Distributed Management (SQL_DMO) component is not compatible with SQL Server 2005". -
Cause
The version of sqldmo.dll file is 2000.80.760.0 and this version is not compatible with Toad.

Resolution
WORDAROUND:
Download and install the SQL DMO component as directed by Toad and restart Toad.
STATUS:
Enhancement request to exclude SQL DMO as a requirement has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad for Data Analysis. -
Additional Information
ODBC connectivity does not use SQL DMO and can be used as a temporary workaround. The future release of Toad is scheduled to no longer require SQL DMO for SQL Server native connectivity.
