When performing a Database or Schema Compare, Toad just hangs or freezes.
Per one customer report, it was found that the new desktop computer's hard drives were imaged or were a "ghost" from another machine where Toad and other programs were installed already. This meant that it carried over the username from the original machine.
Perform a full uninstall of Toad for Oracle including deleting the Toad for Oracle folders in both the "C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle" location and the "C:\Documents and Settings\<your_user>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle" location.
