When adding a new agent for DB2 Database monitoring in Foglight, the message "Failed to authenticate by any of the credentials" occurs. The confirmed credentials are valid.
CAUSE 1
For this login type the DB2 agent installer supports only the default challenge of: 'Password:', however this host has a unique configuration where the challenge is 'Enter your LAN Password:'
CAUSE 2
The Challenge/Response credential also had a resource mapping with the DB2 agent name for the OS component.
RESOLUTION 1
Configure the interactive challenge for a user to be 'Password:' in the UNIX machine
RESOLUTION 2
Manually create a new "Challenge Response" credentials with the Challeage "Enter your LAN Password:" to match the challenge on the UNIX server.
RESOLUTION 3
Remove the "Agent Name equals" entry from the "OS Monitoring by SSH" resource mapping.
