Database partition on the Foglight Virtual Appliance is full (4293171)

Unable to access or use Foglight Evolve as the database partition is full on the appliance. 

Error messages like the following are shown in the Foglight Management Server logs:

com.quest.nitro.service.sl.interfaces.topology.OptimisticLockException: The table 'topology_object_history' is full

The PostgreSQL database is fails to start:

Failed to start PostgreSQL database server.

The internal MySQL or PostgreSQL database that ships with the appliance has become completely full.

The df -h command output from console access on Linux DB will show %100 on the database partition mount point (/postgresql or /mysql/data).

Before following the steps below, please make a backup copy / snapshot of the virtual appliance to roll back in case anything is going wrong.

1. Shut down the Foglight Evolve Virtual Appliance.
2. In VMware vCenter Client chose the appropriate virtual machine then "Edit Settings".
3. Identify the hard disk that contains the database files and change the size to what your requirements are, see attached screen shot Harddisk3.png
4. Log into Foglight Evolve Appliance, the FMS Virtual Machine as root.
5. Go to "cd /home/FMS_HOME/Foglight/bin"
6. Shut down Foglight using this command: "./shutdownFMS.sh"
7. Then login to the PostgreSQL/MySQL Virtual Machine and stop the service
   
   For MySQL:
   service mysql stop
   
   For PostgreSQL
   service postgresql stop
   
   Check if service is running
   ps -ef | grep mysql
   ps -ef | grep postgresql
   
   
8. Now run "umount /postgresql"
   Note (if unable to umount, then you may have to do so in fail/safe mode of shell)
9. Type "yast" and hit enter
10. In YaST control center chose "System" on left and "Partitioner" on right, then "Enter" and "Yes on Warning".
11. Tab to select the partition that contains the database files (E.g. "/dev/sdb1", "dev/sdc1") and the "Next".
12. Select Device > Resize
13. Define the new size (E.g. "Maximum Size") and click "Next" to confirm changes to partitioning then "Quit" to exit YaST.
14. Finally either run "mount /postgresql" or just reboot appliance.
