Data Compare function consumes all CPU resources and performance is slow. Log files have error "U -
Description
User runs Data Compare function in Toad. The CPU usage on the computer spikes. Task Manager shows the CPU load associated with their anti-virus was very high while writing to the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad\3.2.0.325\DataCompareAndSync.log.
The log file contains many error messages saying "Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.String'." -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Temporarly disable the anti-virus software in order to get to the next screen to complete the Data Compare.
STATUS
This issue has been reported to the developers and is waiting for fix in a future version of Toad for SQL Server. -
