CA Client query issues Stream was too long error -
Description
When running search the Client is reporting the following error "Stream was too long" and never completes/hangs and has to be ended to get it back. -
Cause
The "Stream was too long" error in the CA Client is the result of the Query engine returning a data set from SQL that exceeds the size limit of the System.IO.MemoryStream base class:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.io.memorystream?view=net-5.0This allocated size limit is not configurable. -
Resolution
Workaround:
As the above occurred on a AD queries search the event size exceeded size limit of the System.IO.MemoryStream. Possible to remove columns for returned results.
