Description
The message “block potentially unsafe components from being run?” appears when remotely controlling a computer via Desktop Authority’s Remote Management utility, ExpertAssist. Another popup might mention that “java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern. Contact the application vendor to ensure that it has not been tampered with.” -
Cause
The security settings for Java need to be adjusted to allow both signed and unsigned components starting with Java update 6, release 19. -
Resolution
Access the Java control panel by going to Windows Control Panel and opening the Java utility. Select the Advanced tab and go to the Mixed code section. Select the radio button for "Enable – hide warning and run with protections". Press Apply and then ok.
Restart the Desktop Authority ExpertAssist session and the warning message should no longer appear. Additional information about this message is available via the Java support url below:
