User cannot see or view all the tables or tablespace in the Schema Browser Tabs. User can also get 'ORA-00942: Table or view does not exist' error when querying tables that the user should have access to.
Filter settings limiting the view or 'Check for access to DBA_views' is unchecked or Default Role is not granted to user.
RESOLUTION 1:
Review your filter settings and clear filters:
1. In the Tables/Tablespaces tab, there is a filter icon, which looks like a funnel. If there is filter set, it will be red. If there is no filter set it will be gray.
2. Click on the funnel icon to review filter settings. Click on the "Clear" button to reset filter to default/no filters set.
3. When the message "This will cause the schema browser to show all objects in the current schema. Continue?" appears, click on "Yes."
RESOLUTION 2:
Make sure the version of Toad being used supports the Oracle client and database being used.
RESOLUTION 3:
Go to View | Toad Options | Startup | check 'Check for Access to DBA Views' | restart Toad and then re-test the issue.
RESOLUTION 4:
Have your DBA run the “ALTER USER <your_user> DEFAULT ROLE ALL;” script, and then re-test the issue.
