We have a question on Foglight HA. If we have 2 nodes in Foglight HA environment, and we want to patch the OS on one nodes which will require a reboot of the server, will Foglight be running on the other node so that there will be no down time for Foglight?
The nodes in the cluster of servers check in on one another to be sure one is always in the role of primary. So if you have a 2 node cluster and you shut down one, the other will pick up the role of primary as soon as it notices. That should only take a minute or two. Now, one could very well say that Foglight was down for the minute or two. So there is never a situation where there is no down time even in the best case.
To summarize, when the first node goes down for the reboot, then the second will indeed pick up the primary role and monitoring will continue as soon as it does. If your agents are all set for normal collection cycles and the fail over is successful, there would be no data lost and only a very small delay in any notifications.
