How to toggle between standard Entity Relationship models and Dimensional Models. 

Solution:

The Dimensional modeling feature is available in a physical model when you select the Dimensional check box on the General tab in the Model Editor. You can convert an entity relationship model to a dimensional model.

To convert an entity relationship model to a dimension model

1. Open an entity relationship model and select Model Properties from the Model menu.

   The Model Editor opens.

2. On the General tab, in the Modeling Features section, select Is Dimensional and click OK.

   The entity relationship model is converted to a dimensional model.

NOTE: After changing this setting in one model, new models that you create will be created based on the settings from the previous model worked on, so if the last model worked on was a Data Warehouse model, the new model will have the same database and notation by default. If needed, use the above steps to convert the model back to a standard logical/physical model.
