What are the steps involved in changing the password for the foglight embedded MySQL database?
As with all database changes, you may want to take a back up of the entire FMS directory in the
event the database password update does not go as expected.
- Stop the FMS
- Follow the MySQL procedure for changing the root password
(if the password is known, you may want to log on to MySQL as that user and
follow the MySQL process for changing the user password
- Stop the FMS Database

- Encrypt the new password you used when starting MySQL and
put the encrypted string in the server.config file
These articles indicate "external" database password, but this is applicable for the
embedded MySQL password. The new password must be encrypted and put in the
server.config log
