Excel file showed no data when exporting the Columns tab of a table from the Schema Browser. -
Description
In Toad Schema Browser, I selected the Table tab and clicked on a column. In the Columns tab on the right, I wanted to save the column info to Excel file. I selected 'Grid | Save As' and I filled in the path to save the Excel file and checked the following options
- Launch after creation
- Include NULL text
- Include column headers
When I clicked on OK, the Excel file launches but no data showed up. -
Cause
Corrupt or incompatible ToadActions.dat

Resolution
1) Close Toad for Oracle.
2) For Windows XP - Go to 'C:\Documents and Settings\<OS_USER>>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<Toad Version>\User Files' directory.
or
For Windows Vista and 7 - Go to 'C:\Users\<OS USER>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<Toad Version>\User Files' directory.
(a) Rename the ToadActions.dat file to ToadActions.dat.backup.
(b) Rename the ToadActions.log to ToadActions.log.backup
3) Launch Toad and test issue.
4. Re-launch Toad and do another 'Grid | Save As' with Excel file
