There are occasions when anti-virus may prevent the installation or normal operation of Expert Assist on client machines.
Apply the following anti-virus exceptions to client machines where Expert Assist is or may be installed:
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority
Explicitly exclude the following files:
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority\DaMaint.exe
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority\RM_RC.exe
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority\DesktopAuthority.exe
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority\RMGUI.exe
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority\Gateway.exe (if present)
C:\Program Files\DesktopAuthority\Gateway_svc.exe (if present)C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\ExpertAssist Java Launcher\eajalo.exe (The file eajalo.exe is only available on the machine used to remote the other machines)
From version 9.2 to version 10.0.0.x the path has changed to: "C:\Program Files\Dell\ExpertAssist" , the anti-virus exceptions below will need to be added:
For version 10.1.0.x and up the path has changed to: "C:\Program Files\Quest\ExpertAssist\" , the anti-virus exceptions below need to be added:
C:\Program Files\Quest\ExpertAssist\Gateway_svc.exe (if present)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\ExpertAssist Java Launcher\eajalo.exe (The file eajalo.exe is only available on the machine used to remote the other machines)
Explicitly exclude the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\ExpertAssist Java Launcher\ (This folder is only available on the machine used to remote the other machines)
Expert Assist is bundled with multiple Quest products. The Gateway.exe and Gateway_svc.exe files are only included with Expert Assist that ships with Remote Support Center.
NOTE: With certain Anti-Virus Programs the use of wild cards may not allow the exceptions to function as expected and therefore the exact path for the exceptions may be required.
