Toad is hanging in Schema Browser using a WHERE clause when adding a filter.

WORKAROUND:

Instead of  adding the filter in the WHERE clause in the view/edit query screen, add it on a new line in the query.
Do not continue on the same last line already within the query.

STATUS:

This issue is fixed in Toad for Oracle 10.0. This version can be downloaded from the downloads section of our website, which you can access by clicking here.

Here is a description how to create the hanging of Toad :

1. Click Schema Browser icon
2. Click a table name
3. Click Data tab
4. Click view/edit query icon with Data tab
5. Add a where clause
6. Click OK
7. Click filter button
8. Add a filter to the WHERE clause by using a text string pattern of the table's column name, like, i.e. 'A%'
9. Click add to filter. The new WHERE clause appears correctly on the screen.
10. Click OK
Toad locks up and one needs terminate application with the Task Manager.
