During the installation of Desktop Authority, the installation prompts to start the Computer Browser service but the install cannot continue because Desktop Authority cannot start the service, nor can the service be started manually.
A registry value for the computer service may have been changed.
The service automatically stops if your registry settings are not configured to maintain the browse list. Verify the current value for MaintainServerList.
Go to Start | Run | Type regedit and press enter | Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters.
The MaintainServerList value should be set to Yes or Auto. If this Value is No, the computer browser service will not start.
