When trying to add a Farm through the RMSP Management Console, the following error is thrown:
"Access failed (Error: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.Source: Mircrosoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerSQLSTATE:08001Native error: 17Server: Error state: 1Error severity: 16Strings: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.) error message when trying to add a farm."
The Farm's SQL server alias has not been setup on the RMSP server.
WORKAROUND:
Configure/Add the SQL alias to the x32 and x64 SQL Server Client Network Utility (cliconfg).
Start | Run | cliconfg | alias tab - use this for the x32 alias
Start | Run | c:\windows\SysWOW64\cliconfg.exe | alias tab - use this for x64 alias
