In earlier versions of the application these folders were included on the Folder Redirection object drop down list as folders that could be redirected. These folders have been removed from the Folder Redirection object due to customer feedback to our technical support department indicating that redirecting these folders is more detrimental than beneficial.
For this reason, the drop down lists within the Folder Redirection and Common Folder Redirection objects have been populated with the standard values that are deemed not be problematic for the majority of Desktop Authority users. The SLoptions.ini file which is located in the ScriptLogic Manager directory contains the values that populate the various drop lists used by the Desktop Authority Manager. Since this file is overwritten with each upgrade to Desktop Authority, we have provided the ability to add these shell folders back to the drop down lists without adversely affecting the existing standard drop down values or negating the additions on upgrade.
1. Ensure that the Desktop Authority Manager console is closed.
2. Edit the SLCUSTOPT.INI file located in the "ScriptLogic Manager" folder, also shared as "Slogic$". If this file does not exist you may create it. Follow the same structure as in the SLOPTIONS.INI file located in the same directory. The entries made in the SLCustOpt.ini file should appear exactly the same as the example below:
[SHELL FOLDERS]
Application Data,*,*,AppData
Local Application,*,*,Local AppData
Local Settings,*,*,Local Settings
3. Save the changes to this file and open the Desktop Authority Manager.
For 6.52 and earlier versions:
4. Once the Manager is open, create a new Folder Redirection element and the Shell Folder drop down lists should now contain the newly imported entries.
For 7.00 to 8.12 versions:
4. Once the Manager is open, click on the File drop down from the menu bar and choose the “Import Custom Options INI Setting” option.
5. Browse out to the location of the file and double click on it. A confirmation message should be received on completion of the import action.
6. Create a new Folder Redirection element and the Shell Folder drop down lists should now contain the newly imported entries.
For 9.00 and later versions:
4. Once the Manager is open, navigate to the "Import Custom Options" tab located under "Deployment Settings" tab | "System Configuration" tab.
5. Browse out to the location of the file and double click on it. A confirmation message should be received on completion of the import action.
6. Create a new Folder Redirection element and the Shell Folder drop down lists should now contain the newly imported entries.
