LONG VARCHAR error while comparing two databases -
Description
When doing a table compare and sending to Editor, it generates an Incorrect Syntax error near ‘VARCHAR’
This happens in the Reviews Comparison Report window, when the User clicks Send to Editor button.
Within the editor, the following error is generated:
Line XX, col. YYY.Incorrect syntax near ‘VARCHAR’
One cannot run the script because it keeps generating subsequent errors.

Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
This problem has been fixed in our Toad for DB2 6.0 Beta product by checking "Ignore CCSID differences" in the Advanced Options button during Compare.

WORKAROUND 2:
In Toad 5.6, change the data preservation to "Use commands/utilities" in Tools/Options/Database/DB2/Advanced Admin.

Waiting for fix in a future version of Toad for SQL Server.

Additional Information
Both options will avoid the CAST for a LONG VARCHAR. However, a CR has been generated to avoid the creation of a CAST for a LONG VARCHAR in all circumstances.
