How to log in to the DA Manager console using Firefox with NTLM.
Selecting the option "Use Windows logon" checkbox when using the Firefox web browser, causes a dialog box to be displayed requesting credentials to be entered each time a login is attempted. However, we are providing the correct credentials and they are not accepted.
Selecting the "Use Windows logon" login option when using the Firefox web browser will prompt you to enter your credentials unless the browser is configured to allow NTLM authentication. NTLM authentication uses your current logon credentials to log into the application.
The first thing to note is how to enter your credentials. The username must be entered using the format “DomainName\Username” (without quotes). If entering only the username, it will not be authenticated on the domain.
The Firefox web browser must be configured to allow NTLM authentication.
- Load the web browser and type “about:config” (without quotes) in the address bar.
- You will be prompted with the following warning:
- Click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button.
- You will then be presented with the advanced configuration dialog.
- In the Filter entry box, type “uris” (without quotes).
- This will filter the configuration list to the following 3 items.
- Double click on each entry in the list and set the value to the fully qualified domain name (ex. servername.domainname.local) of the application to use NTLM authentication. However, if using Firefox with NTLM on the server where DA is installed, then the server name is only required to be entered. If any of the entries already have a value, you should use a comma (,) between each entry.
- Restart the browser.
