Scenario:
There's a Save As functionality of Reverse Engineer Option Sets to a selected model.
How could it be used while RE process always begins with a New Model?
While trying to find the way, I saved a Option Set to a model template and bound it to the first New Model step of RE process. But it wasn't inherited.
Solution:
The Option Set saved at the model level is meant only for that model. Perhaps the option save the RE option Set at the model level should be taken away as it is not useful. For that purpose the RE option Set should be set as an XML. You can advance this as an Enhancement to development, but you can also add it on the Idea Wall.
The best way to submit an enhancement request for your erwin Data Modeling Suite is to go to http://community.erwin.com or by clicking on "Community" in the upper right-hand corner of the erwin Inc. Support site at https://support.erwin.com/hc/en-us or by going to http://erwin.com then navigate to Resources, Community. Select the product in which you are interested and the Idea Wall section. 2. Login to the site.
3. Once connected, you will see 'Share your Ideas' on the right side.
This section is exclusively for erwin community. The benefit of posting your suggestion here is that you “own” it. You will be notified by email of all updates and you will be the “thought leader” for the idea. Other users can see that the enhancement request is your idea, and you can lead the conversation in a way that will make your request compelling to erwin Inc. Other users can “vote” on your idea and you can “campaign” for votes for your idea. Other users may also suggest a workaround or another way that you can accomplish your objective.
The Product Management also reviews the Idea Wall regularly, and will also respond to it.
For all the reasons above, posting and socializing your request on the Idea Wall is the most productive and informative place to open an enhancement request.
