The user account that one uses with SQL Optimizer will need to have certain permissions set depending on the tasks you wish to perform. One can find a list of these permissions by accessing the Help menu item and choosing the Database Privileges item in the Welcome to SQL Optimizer category. If one are not able to grant these permissions on your own, one can show this help screen to your database administrator and they can grant them for you. There is also a Database Privileges Script available which contains the SQL code for granting the desired privileges. Once one has their SQL Optimizer user account ready on your database, one is ready to set up the connection.
