"SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26" - Error Locating Connect Error (4261133)

User can connect fine to one of my databases. However, when creating a connection to another database, TOAD crashes.

When putting in the login/password and click the ellipsis for the Database, it will not crash and returns message a network-related or instance-specific error:

The server was not found or was not accessible provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified.

RESOLUTION 1

Upgrade to current version of Toad for SQL Server via Support Portal.:

RESOLUTION 2

Add the port number to the end of the server name.
