Database agents are triggering an idle agent alarm after 2-3 days.
No new metric appear on the database dashboards.

Cause
There are 2 SQL Server agent collections - "DBSS_Wait_Statistics" & "DBSS_PI_Instance_Statistics" - querying data from Performance Investigator (PI) repository - if PI is enabled.Foglight uses the thread pool to execute all collections and the thread pool is set to 2 by default.The 2 collections are blocking other collections by using the whole thread pool. -
Resolution
Increasing the thread pool to 4 solves the issue. To increase the thread pool follow the steps below:
- Go to "Administration | Tooling | Script Console"
- Select the "Scripts" tab in the lower part of the dashboard
- Click the green "Add" button
- Copy the attached script into text area of the popup
- Click the "Run" button
- Check the output info and also check with the screen shot "groovy-effects.png"
- Restart all Foglight Agent Managers
