The bar chart of a drag&drop dashboard is not displaying the data properly. The data collection (collected by Generic SQL agent) is running every 15 minutes and is collecting data for one minute
When displaying this data in a bar chart as raw data, the bar chart does not display the data either in 10 minute aggregation or 15 minute aggeregation, depending on the selected time frame.
The bar chart works as designed.
The issue appeared due to the collection interval and the sample period. The collection interval is 15 minutes and the sample period 1 minute. So the chart is getting one data sample and 14 empty data points before the next data sample is available.
So if the time frame is one hour, the chart is able to display the data samples every 15 minutes. The data is bundled into 5 minutes buckets, which makes the display every 15 minutes possible.
If a another time frame is selected the data will be bundled into other buckets, in the example above in 10 minutes buckets. Now it is not possible to display a bar every 15 minutes. Now the bar is displayed every 10 or 20 minutes, depends on the time the data collection happen.
In this case the issue can be fixed by modifying the Generic SQL agent, which is collecting the data. The sample period needs to be configured to last 15 minutes, even if the data collection ran for only 1 minute.
