This article reviews different scenarios for provisioning Active Directory with Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE).
Option 1:
The MNE Provision wizard (in version 4.12.1.92 and later) has been enhanced to handle this scenario, where only contact objects exist in Active Directory. This option allows for additional customization of the user object that are created, such as creating disabled user objects.
Option 2:
This operation will delete contact objects and create mailbox-enabled objects.
1. Go to 'Edit | Global Default Settings…' (Alternatively, check 'View | Advanced Settings' to set the parameters below per session instead of modifying it globally).
2. Find the [ActiveDirectory] section.
3. Remove the lines with 'ContactFilter=' and 'UserFilter='.
4. Add the 'MBoxFromContact' parameter:
[ActiveDirectory]
MBoxFromContact=1
5. Important - Applies to OnPremises: Run the 'Migrate User Data | Mailbox-enable …' operation, not 'User Collections | Provision'.
or
5. Important - Applies to O365: Run the 'Migrate User Data | Prepare local Active Directory accounts for MSDirSync' operation, not 'User Collections | Provision'. This step would result in the local AD contact being turned into a user object that will be synced to Office 365 as a mailbox enabled user on the next run of the MS DirSync tool.
