How to move MessageStats database to another location on the same server on a SQL 2005 server?
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- These steps are known to work successfully; however, they have not been officially tested by Quest Software Quality Control.

First of all close the MessageStats console and stop the Quest MessageStats Scheduler service.
Then perform the following:
1. Back up your SQL database using the standard backup procedures
2. Open SQL Server Management Studio
3. Right-click on the 'Databases' folder and select 'Properties'
4. Select the 'Files' page
5. Take a note of the file name and the file path e.g. MessageStats.mdf in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL
6. Take a note of the file name and the file path e.g. MessageStats.ldf in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL
7. Click on 'Cancel' to close the window
8. Right-click once again on the ''MessageStats' database | Tasks | Detach...
9. Check on the tick box under the 'Drop Connections' column. Click OK
10. The MessageStats database name is no longer displayed under the Databases node
11. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL and move the MessageStats.mdf and the MessageStats.ldf files to the new location.
12. Right-click on 'Databases' in SQL Server Management Studio and navigate to Tasks | Attach Database... Click on the "Add..." button
13. Navigate to where the MessageStats.mdf and the MessageStats.ldf files are now residing and select the MessageStats.mdf.
14. Click on the "OK" button
15. The MessageStats Database name is now displayed under the Databases node
16. Launch MessageStats console to confirm it connects successfully
