When trying to connect in Spotlight on Oracle 4.5.x, the following error message is triggered:
The following error occurred in<connection></connection>during connection:
Windows (WMI) connection error: WMI error 80070005: Access is denied
Do you want to ignore this and continue connecting?
Windows performance counters disabled on the server.
Make sure Windows performance counters are enabled on the server.
To enable performance counters, you need to use a utility from Microsoft. Install the Windows 2000 Resource Kit Tool : Extensible Performance Counter List (exctrlst.exe) utility which can be downloaded from:

After installing on the server, run the C:\Program Files\Resource Kit\exctrlst.exe binary. Check that for every performance counter, the check box is checked. Meaning click on every performance counter and check that the checkbox is checked for every one.
