Is it possible to monitor a DBVisit data guard (DG) setup in a standard Oracle database?
No, Foglight does not support DBVisit data guard setup.
Foglight gets all DG data from the Oracle data dictionary, for example DG destination or log sequences etc. Those are not set when using DBVisit.
To avoid database connectivity alarms from the standby database treat the setup as an active/passive cluster.
You can install one database agent using the service name to connect to the DB. The agent needs to run on a remote Agent Manager. Once the standby database becomes primary, the Foglight agent should continue monitoring as the service name is being used.
If the standby database should be monitored with its own agent, the agent needs to be deactivated or blacked out if the database is in standby mode.
