The error code 7(-88,309,0) when starting Erwin with local license means that system clock (date or time) has been set back or that some Windows system files have a creation or update date in the future. The Licensing system is designed to prevent users from circumventing the license expiration by rolling back the system clock. So, when any change in the system clock (beyond some number of hours) is detected, the license will become invalid. Restoring the system clock to the correct time will not automatically correct this problem. After the system time has been changed, there is some evidence that remains on the system and it prevents the license mechanism from recognizing any license.
Please make sure your system is set to the correct time. If you have already confirmed that and if your system clock was not changed recently and the clock setting it correct and current, then do the following:
Scan your PC for all files with future dates. Possibly, you will find a couple of folders/files in Windows folder and sub folder dated in the future. Try to change the date to the current date and time. If this is not possible, find out which updates have changed it to the wrong date. Possibly, this was a Windows, Windows security, Internet Explorer or another system update. If so, try to uninstall this with
Add/Remove program and install it afterwards again.
Another option is to run the repair of the Windows installation to synchronise any system files/programs to prevent the 7(-88,309,0) error message during the ERwin license checking. With the repair installation I mean following: Start the PC with the Windows Installation DVD. Two times you will get the question if Windows should repair the installed installation. At the second question answer with YES. Windows will be repaired without losing the previous
installations.
