Get SQL1531N error launching SQL Optimizer from Toad
Description

Get the following message when trying to launch SQL Optimizer for DB2 LUW from Toad for DB2 LUW.

Failed to connect to database.
[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL1531N The connection failed because the name specified with the DSN connection string keyword could not be found in either the db2dsdriver.cfg configuration file or the db2cli.ini configuration file.
Cause

SQL Optimizer is 32-bit and Toad is 64-bit, which means they need to use two different clients.
Resolution

Upgrade SQL Optimizer to v4.4 or higher. This version of SQL Optimizer will allow you to use the same client that you are using with Toad.

SQL Optimizer does not come in 64-bit, only 32-bit. Enhancement Request SOFUL-151 has been logged to offer a 64-bit version of SQL Optimizer.
