Can Reverse Engineering of Views display them graphically?
Description
Is it possible to use the Toad Data Modeler in reverse engineering on database views so that their attributes, and foreign key relationships are represented graphically? In reverse engineering, neither the attributes, the primary keys, nor the foreign keys are displayed graphically.
Resolution
Toad Data Modeler only reverses structured Views as simple Views at this time.
WORKAROUND: None.
STATUS: Enhancement requests TDM-1590 and TDM-1360 have been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad Data Modeler.
Defect ID
TDM-1590, TDM-1360
Additional Information
Toad Data Modeler only reverses structured Views as simple Views at this time.
The two ERs that are related to this KB article (TDM-1590 - 'Views with JOINS in ERD' & TDM-1360 - 'RE View with INNER JOIN with view relationship') are on the roadmap to be implemented, but it will only be limited to simple joins, because the visualisation in TDM has limits.
