Exchange Mailboxes gathering tasks periodically fail with error "MAPI Connection FAILED" (4241125)

Exchange Mailboxes gathering tasks periodically fail with error "MAPI Connection FAILED", however when I rerun the gathering task they are successful.

This error indicates that at the time the gathering task was launched the MessageStats server was unable to connect to the exchange server via MAPI

In certain circumstances this can be caused by intermittent network congestion, or disruption.

WorkAround:

1. Open the MessageStats Console
2. Right Click the Task Node and select Properties
3. Click the Task Retry tab
4. Increase the retry interval and number of task retries
5. Click OK

Increasing the task retry interval and the number of task retries will allow message stats to wait longer before marking the task as failed and moving on. If the issue is caused by intermittent congestion or failures on the network the task may be able to complete successfully before the retries expire.
