Get "Unable to cast object of type.." error clicking the "Server Name" (...) button
Description

The following message is received when the ellipsis (...) button is selected next to the Server Name field.

"Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.String'"
Resolution

WORKAROUND:
Manually type the server name in the field.

STATUS:
Issue fixed in version 3.2.0.325. The latest version of Toad for SQL Server can be downloaded here.
